Suffolk County Chapter — SCPD Rules and Procedures

SCPD Rules and Procedures

The Suffolk County Police Department’s Rules and Procedures are the principle policies instructing and guiding the activity and behavior of the Department’s employees.

Currently, the SCPD does not post its Rules and Procedures in any public forum, requiring ordinary Suffolk County residents to submit what could amount to a costly request under the state’s Freedom of Information law (FOIL).

To circumvent such a burden on the public, the NYCLU seeks this information on behalf of Suffolk County residents and posts it here as a public resource. The current Rules and Procedures, as posted here, are current as of June 2009.
