
Memo: Response to the Joint Public Hearing on Sexual Assault in the Prison System
In response to the March 3, 2022 Joint Public Hearing on the impact of sexual assault in the prison system, the NYCLU and other organizations championing the passage of the Gender Identity Respect Dignity and Safety (GIRDS) Act (A.7001-B / S.6677) wrote a memo to clarify and correct the record concerning specific assertions made by the representatives of the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS).
